A family dream, the soil of a great place. This is the origin of our winery and the secret of our business. Located in the heart of the Uco Valley, in the foothills of Los Andes mountains, Monteviejo is the realization of that dream. It is also the key to our tireless dedication, since 2001, to obtaining a selection of grapes that enables to produce high quality wines in Argentina.
Catherine Pere Vergé’s lifelong passion for great wines and her entrepreneurial vision led the Pere Vergé family to found Monteviejo Winery in Argentina, one of her favorite places in the world. After her passing in 2013, her family, led by Henri Parent, contributed their tireless vocation to carry on with Catherine’s legacy, which continues to this day.
At the head of our winemaking team is Marcelo Pelleriti, one of the leaders in the world of winemaking, who has developed his professional career in France and Argentina. His two-world experience, the result of leading the harvests both in Valle de Uco and in Bordeaux (Chateau La Violette, Chateau Le Gay y Chateau Montviel, also owned by the Pere Vergé family) every year, has made him a great interpreter of terroirs. The first Latin American winemaker to obtain 100 Parker points, Marcelo Pelleriti has also taken upon himself the development of his team of Mendoza - based winemakers, who have joined him in the harvests in France since 2007.
